| I am pleased with the way that Kevin answered all of our questions thoroughly and in a way that non-technical customers like us can understand. We had NorthTek do three installations over the course of about seven years, and we have been very satisfied with the results - both the workmanship and the outputs of our solar electric and hot water systems. I wouldn`t hesitate to recommend NorthTek to our friends and associates. Getting government rebates / incentives were definitely a factor in determining how large a system we were going to install, but the benefits that mattered most over time were environmental versus a hedge against future energy costs to us. | Kevin did a very nice job on this project. He was very easy to contact, and especially easy to work with. He is also very personable. The panels were installed on-time and at the price quoted, which is very very nice. I am quite pleased, and I would recommend him to anybody. I would be great if rebates and other incentives continued, as I believe a lot more folks would install solar panels. | There was more than one delay in the installation schedule, which complicated getting time off work to be on site. However, the reasons were sufficiently explained and I accepted the apologies.
The overall experience exceeded my expectations, and I am completely satisfied with the end result. I submitted RFQs to several installers, but Energy Concepts was the only one to respond in a timely manner. Due to my satisfaction with the initial contacts, I did not pursue other bids.
I preferred to manage the interconnection (net-metering) agreement with the utility and the application and approval of the state rebate even though Energy Concepts was willing and capable of doing it. | Energy Concepts is "HANDS DOWN" the "BEST" solar PV contractor in the upper midwest. They have a thorough understanding of the technology (unlike many others), have the best design and documentation, offer the best in current technology (SunPower and others), and have a great team of subs that they have worked with on several projects. I looked at many other contractors through this process and looked at various technologies...others seem to get into PV for the wrong reasons...Energy Concepts believes in what they do and has the engineering background to bring it to life efficiently and reliably. | I`m a pretty handy guy and probably too much of a perfectionist, but even though I seek out companies with the best customer reviews I often find the aesthetics of their work somewhat lacking. I look at their wiring or plumbing and, although it is always technically and mechanical sound, I think I could do a cleaner and neater job. This wasn`t the case with Energy Concepts. Their attention to detail from initial planning to final inspection was impeccable. I couldn`t have dreamed of a better installation.

| Ran into a ridiculous number of issues with Sunpower, and eventually with the financing, but Energy Concepts did its part to solve the issues. It was also odd that I had to pull the building permit, but that wasn`t a big deal. My only real problem was communication. They didn`t seem to want to reply to all on an email, so I would often get similar responses from multiple people. Sometimes not all questions I asked in an email were answered. Jon can be hard to get a hold of. Any single issue wasn`t a big deal, but all of it added together made it frustrating.
