Are renewable energy systems assessed property tax in Rhode Island?

Like the property-tax provisions of many other states, Rhode Island law specifies that for purposes of local municipal property-tax assessment, renewable-energy systems cannot be assessed at more than the value of a conventional heating, hot water or other energy-production system. Qualifying technologies include photovoltaics, solar hot water systems, active solar space heating, and wind-energy systems.
